We designed this battery specifically for use on vehicles powered by the T500 Thruster. It fits in our 4″ Series watertight enclosure and is equipped with a QS8-S connector that can handle the 110A continuous discharge rating. This battery does not include an internal battery management system (BMS) to prevent overdischarging. It is preconfigured with the correct settings to safely charge all Blue Robotics batteries. To charge this battery using the Blue Robotics H6 PRO Lithium Battery Charger, change the cell count option to 6S (22.2V) and start the charging task. Make sure to keep it away from flammable materials and always monitor the battery as it charges, discontinue charging if it becomes hot or changes in appearance. If you are not using the Blue Robotics H6 Pro Lithium Battery Charger, use the following instructions: Only use a lithium-ion/polymer compatible balance charger to charge this battery, attempting to use another type of charger will damage the battery. The charger should have a balance charge function and be able to balance a lithium battery with 6 cells (6S). Make sure to keep it away from flammable materials and always monitor the battery as it charges, discontinue charging if it becomes hot or changes in appearance. Use your charger’s lithium polymer (LiPo) charging setting and set it to 6S (22.2V). The LiPo setting will charge the battery to the fully charged voltage of 4.20 V per cell, 25.2 V total battery voltage. We recommend balance charging/balancing the battery at every charge to keep all cells at the same level of charge. If quick charging is a priority, balancing should be done at least every third charge. Cells that are not properly balanced may become overcharged. An overcharged cell is unstable and can lead to battery failure, property damage, or personal injury. This battery can be safely charged at up to 32 A, which will bring it back up to full charge faster. However, we recommend charging at 16 A regularly in order to maximize capacity and battery lifespan. A summary of the correct charging settings is provided below. 　Lithium-ion Battery (22.2V, 28Ah) Charge Settings ・Charge Profile LiPo ・Number of Cells 6S ・Nominal Voltage 22.2 V total / 3.7 V per cell ・Fully Charged Voltage 25.2 V total / 4.2 V per cell ・Recommended Charge Rate 16 A ・Maximum Charge Rate 32 A - Discharging After charging, connect the QS8-S discharge plug to your vehicle, and the battery is ready to use. This battery does not have a built-in battery management system to prevent overdischarging. The battery voltage must be monitored to prevent discharging below the minimum safe voltage level of 18 V. The battery can sustain a constant discharge of up to 110 A, and up to 240 A in short bursts of up to 10 seconds. Make sure to never short the battery discharge plug or plug it into a circuit that may be shorted. If using the the QS8-S to XT90 adapter, the constant discharge must not exceed 90 A. Note that the maximum safe discharge rating is dependent on adequate cooling to keep the battery below 60°C. If used in an enclosed space without airflow, constant current draw must be decreased appropriately to keep the battery at a safe temperature. Temperature can be monitored with the integrated 3435 K negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor, which has a resistance of 10 kΩ at 25°C. - Storage Charge will be lost over time when the battery is stored, and care must be taken to ensure long term storage does not damage the battery. Storage temperature should always be below 60°C (140°F), and the lower, the better. The battery should be stored at about 50% charge, or 3.7 V per cell (22.2 V total). The Blue Robotics H6 Pro Charger, and most lithium-ion/polymer chargers, have a storage setting that will automatically put the battery at the correct voltage for storage. Batteries in storage should be periodically checked and charged to keep each cell above the 3.0 V minimum.
