It consists of an RGB LED built into the bulkhead penetrator form factor, which makes for easy installation in our Watertight Enclosures or other hardware. At its core, the Subsea RGB LED Indicator uses a WS2812B RGB LED, commonly known as a NeoPixel LED, enabling fully customizable lighting control. It requires a microcontroller capable of sending WS2812B serial signals and is compatible with all major WS2812B software libraries, including Adafruit NeoPixel library, FastLED, and WLED. The Indicator body is made of black anodized aluminum. A plastic diffuser cap spreads the light for an even glow. A 1000 meter depth rating and wide operating temperature range make it great for a variety of underwater environments. Applications could include displaying error codes or system status information, a waterproof indicator light on an uncrewed surface vessel, or even an underwater light display with animation or scrolling text (we’ve dabbled in this ourselves). What’s up with your Navigator? The Subsea RGB LED Indicator can be directly connected to the RGB output header, allowing it to mirror the Navigator Flight Controller’s status light. This is particularly useful when using aluminum enclosures, ensuring important status lights remain visible from the outside. They’re daisy-chainable! Multiple indicators can be daisy-chained together by connecting the output of one unit to the input of another. This enables a single control signal to manage multiple lights, perfect for coordinated status displays or dynamic underwater lighting effects. Each indicator is fully addressable, so you can program them to create animated lighting and scrolling text effects.
