Introducing Diatom Coating™ – Super Water-Repellent Rotor Protection
The rotor of the Blue Robotics T200/T500 Thruster is highly susceptible to electrolytic corrosion and rust formation due to repeated exposure to seawater. Over time, this can cause it to adhere to the molded coil, leading to rotational failure.
Diatom Coating™, developed in Fujimino, is an advanced silicate-based coating technology that protects the existing paint film on the rotor’s magnet attachment surface. Once applied, it forms a durable 8H-hardness protective layer, preventing wear from foreign particles and prolonged contact.
Additionally, its water-repellent properties significantly improve water drainage from inside the thruster after rinsing BlueROV2 in fresh water to remove salt deposits.
Under normal usage conditions, Diatom Coating™ provides up to three years of protection, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
